Checks - done. Proof - captured. Standards – met.
Simple for your team, detailed for you. Trail gives you everything you need to plan, complete, and review daily tasks across every site.
Every check scheduled the right time
Your team opens Trail and their checks for the day are already there. Your managers can see in real time what's been completed across every site.
-
Every routine covered: daily, weekly, monthly, annual and one-off schedules
-
Time-critical checks on time: hourly intervals for temperature logs
-
The unplanned gets logged too: ad-hoc tasks for spillages, breakdowns and anything unexpected
-
Longer jobs made simple: multi-day tasks that can be snoozed
-
One task, different sites: the same task adapts to each site, so every site only sees the steps that apply to it
-
What matters most comes first: high or low task priority, reflected in daily scores
A record that shows who did what, when, and whether they were on site
Every completed check carries a timestamp and a name, and can record whether it was done on site, so when an inspection arrives or a complaint needs investigating, the record is already there.
-
A named record on shared devices: six-digit PIN sign-off
-
Evidence it was done on site: records whether each check was completed on site, off site or undetermined, using the location set for each site
-
Proof of the finished job: photo fields that can be set to camera only
-
A second pair of eyes on critical checks: manager approval once the check is done
-
The full history: an audit trail of who completed what, and when
Out-of-range readings don't just get flagged - they get followed up
When a reading falls outside the acceptable range, Trail raises a corrective action, so your team knows what to do next and your managers can see it has been dealt with.
-
Problems picked up straight away: actions raised by an out-of-range reading or a specific answer in a check
-
You decide how urgent: set each action as required or requested
-
Every follow-up handled the same way: pre-configured templates, or ad-hoc actions for one-off situations
-
The full context: each action shows the check and question that raised it
-
Proof it was closed: two-way links between the check and its action
-
Nothing left open: due dates appear in the task list and count towards daily scores
See what's happening across every site, without chasing anyone
Trail calculates a daily score out of ten for every site, based on tasks completed each day, so your managers can filter the sites that need attention, see the missed tasks, and act without waiting for a report or making a phone call.
-
Every site at a glance: daily scores out of ten at company, area and site level
-
Progress you can track: 30-day trend comparisons
-
The detail when you need it: reports you can filter by date, site, area, task, tag, status and user
-
Structured site visits: scored audits with section-level and overall percentages
-
Records ready to share: PDF exports with photos embedded and labelled, plus CSV export for further analysis
-
Updates that come to you: daily and weekly digests
Up and running without starting from scratch

Questions – answered
Does Trail work offline?
Yes. Once the day's tasks have loaded, your team can keep working without a signal, so basements and walk-in fridges aren't a problem. Offline, they can complete checks, log temperatures, add comments, mark tasks as done and snooze tasks. Trail syncs everything when the device reconnects, and each task keeps the time it was actually completed.
A few things need a connection. The day's tasks have to load while the device is online, and photos, file attachments and admin settings only work online. Each device also needs to sync at least once a day. If it doesn't sync before that day's site score is calculated, tasks completed offline will count as missed in the score.
Can I export records for an EHO inspection?
Yes. Trail exports a full PDF audit trail with photos embedded alongside the relevant field, comment, and timestamp. You can filter by date range, site, task, or status before exporting, so you pull exactly the records you need rather than everything at once.
Can I connect Trail to other systems?
Yes. Trail connects to Access Maintain for maintenance callouts directly from a task, Infogrid for IoT sensor data that auto-populates temperature records, and Feed It Back to trigger follow-up tasks from guest feedback. Trail also connects to thousands of other tools via Zapier, and offers a Task Reports API and Scores API for external reporting in Power BI or Tableau.
