Restaurant cleaning schedule app
Cleaning records are one of the three areas EHOs assess when they visit. Paper-based schedules are easy to miss. Meaning accuracy and standards are easily slipped. Trail’s digital cleaning schedule ensures every task is completed, logged with time stamps, and EHO-ready.

-
Go digital with cleaning checklists. This ensures everyone is on the same page and that no task is overlooked. Trail also keeps a handy log and record, ready for EHO inspections.
-
Delegate tasks to individual team members. Assign specific responsibilities to individuals or teams to make them accountable for their designated cleaning duties.

FAQs
What is an EHO inspection?
An EHO inspection is an unannounced official visit by an Environmental Health Officer to check that a food business complies with health, safety, and hygiene laws. During a visit, the officer evaluates three main areas: Food hygiene and safety procedures, Structural requirements, including the physical condition of the building, and Confidence in management.
How long does an EHO inspection take?
An Environmental Health Officer (EHO) visit usually takes between 45 minutes and 3 hours for a small, independent business. A small café, pub, or shop with good records usually takes 45 minutes to 90 minutes. Large restaurants, commercial kitchens, or food factories might take anywhere from half a day to a full day. If your site has a history of poor ratings, complaints, or complex risk factors, the inspector may spend more time digging into details, extending the visit.
How often does an EHO visit?
Environmental Health Officers (EHOs) visit food businesses based on a risk rating system, with inspection frequencies ranging from every 6 months to 3 years or more. Most routine inspections happen without prior notice so EHOs can observe normal daily operations. Officers will visit sooner than planned if they receive a public complaint or if a food safety incident occurs. Poor hygiene ratings or previous infractions will mean you will receive more EHO visits in a shorter amount of time.
What is a FSMS?
An FSMS is a Food Safety Management System. This is a structured framework of policies, procedures, and best practices based on HACCP principles, which is used by food businesses to control hazards and ensure food is safe to eat.
What is HACCP?
HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point, an internationally recognized system used to prevent food safety issues. The 7 Principles of HACCP are: 1. Conduct a hazard analysis 2. Determine the Critical Control Points (CCPs) 3. Establish critical limits. 4. Create monitoring procedures for the CCPs. 5. Establish corrective actions if a CCP is out of control. 6. Establish verification procedures. 7. Keep accurate documentation and records of each stage. Take a look at our HACCP audit guide for more information.
