Questions about Trail for hotels
Can each department see only its own tasks?
Yes, on the Standard plan. Custom roles let you set up a role for each department, so housekeeping, kitchen and maintenance teams each see the tasks meant for them.
Can Trail run room inspections?
Yes. Build a room inspection as a scored audit, with sections for the bedroom, bathroom and minibar. Each inspection records a score for every section and an overall percentage, and supervisors can attach photos as they go.
Does Trail connect to my property management system?
Trail doesn't have a native PMS integration. It connects to thousands of tools through Zapier, so if your PMS is on Zapier, you may be able to link the two. It also connects directly to Access Maintain for maintenance callouts and to Feed It Back for guest feedback. [See all Trail integrations →]
What happens when an EHO or fire officer visits?
Your manager exports a PDF of the checks for whatever dates the inspector wants to see. Each record shows when it was done and who did it, with any photos included and labelled.
Does Trail work in areas with poor signal?
Yes. Once the day's tasks have loaded, your team can keep working without a signal, in basements, plant rooms and back corridors. Offline, they can complete checks, log readings, add comments, mark tasks as done and snooze tasks. Trail syncs everything when the device reconnects, and each task keeps the time it was actually completed.
A few things need a connection. The day's tasks have to load while the device is online, and photos, file attachments and admin settings only work online. Each device also needs to sync at least once a day. If it doesn't sync before that day's site score is calculated, tasks completed offline will count as missed in the score.
